How can we make the care experience even better? It’s something we ask ourselves every day.
In 2019, Blue KC improved the lives of older adults by expanding access to Medicare. Not only did Buchanan County become part of Blue Medicare Advantage network, we placed a new emphasis on preventing social isolation. As popularity grew among all ages for our innovative Spira Care offering, we expanded the number of Care Centers from two to six. And to bring a more customized experience to members, we even rolled out a concierge program.
More programs and services mean more ways for members to stay healthy.

Spira Care continued to answer the market need for more simple and affordable access to healthcare. Membership grew 35% and earned high member ratings.
We introduced a concierge program called Blue Connect to give members access to more information and provide a personalized experience.
