KANSAS CITY, MO. (December 16, 2020)—Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) announced that members of plans with access to Spira Care Centers will now have a new location to visit in Overland Park, Kansas. The new Spira Care Center opens on December 21, 2020 to further accessibility to its unique and personalized care approach.
Blue KC launched its insurance plans with exclusive access to Spira Care in 2018 as an integrated offering that simplifies the healthcare experience, to give members better access to care and coverage. Members enrolled in plans with exclusive access to Spira Care – which combines integrated and doctor-led care plus coverage in one place – can receive primary care, behavioral health consultations and chronic condition management all under one roof. Spira Care focuses on preventive care to assist members in their health journey and with the goal to drive down costs. At Spira Care Overland Park, members will also have access to X-rays, routine lab work, health coaching and diabetes education.

Members enrolled in Blue KC plans with Spira Care have access to the expertise of Care Guides, eight Care Centers and virtual care for their physical and behavioral healthcare needs. Spira Care Guides are real people with nursing and benefit backgrounds, who serve as a single point of contact to answer member’s questions, explain benefits and costs and coordinate care in and out of a Care Center. At Spira Care Centers, members also have access to doctor visits for low to no cost.
