Preferred-Care Blue (PPO)

While the healthcare landscape shifts and other carriers adjust their networks, we’re proud to lead the market in PPO network accessibility. When freedom to choose matters most, our premium network offering exceeds expectations.

Preferred-Care Blue gives your employees the largest selection of providers within our 32-county service area. It’s perfect for teams who value having more doctors, more hospitals, and more peace of mind at the top of their minds.

BlueSelect Plus (PPO or EPO)

When saving money matters as much as having care close to home, BlueSelect Plus delivers. This network is specially designed for sustainable savings and convenient access to quality healthcare throughout the Kansas City metro area. Businesses that switch to the BlueSelect Plus network could pocket some significant savings. 

Eligibility criteria:

  • Large groups: Your company must be headquartered in one of the 12 designated counties, and employees qualify if they live or work in these counties.
  • Small groups: Employees must live in one of these 12 counties.

Designated counties:

  • Missouri: Clay, Jackson, Platte, Cass, Clinton, DeKalb, Johnson, Lafayette, Ray, Caldwell
  • Kansas: Johnson, Wyandotte

Your employees must seek care from any of the 5,400+ providers and 16 hospitals located in:

  • Missouri: Clinton, Clay, Jackson, Johnson, Platte
  • Kansas: Johnson, Wyandotte

BlueCard

Give your employees peace of mind with coverage that travels with them. Blue KC membership provides your team with access to healthcare choices across the country and around the globe through the Blue High Performance Network and BlueCard.

Thanks to BlueCard, your employees can easily get the care they need without referrals whether they are home or away. BlueHPN members must receive healthcare services from in-network BlueHPN providers. Out-of-network services are only covered in urgent or emergency situations. 

HMO Plans

Blue KC HMO plan members can use the Away From Home Care program where available, providing convenient coverage while traveling. Out-of-network benefits are limited to emergencies or when prior authorized by Blue KC.

EPO or PPO Plans

Your team members should always use in-network doctors or hospitals to ensure they receive the highest level of benefits.
