Blue KC to cover office visits and labs for obesity diagnosis

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) will begin covering office visits and labs when a member receives a primary diagnosis of obesity.

Groups that cover weight loss services under their current plan will see no change. Other groups will see this coverage begin on renewal in 2025.

The expanded coverage will help make it easier for members to care for their health when they receive an obesity diagnosis.
