New COVID vaccine, free at-home tests now available
The updated COVID-19 vaccine is now available for $0. To find a COVID vaccine provider near you, search vaccines.gov.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a single dose of the updated mRNA COVID-19 vaccine for anyone six months and older. It is especially important for individuals who are:
- Immunocompromised
- 65 or older
- Living in a long-term care facility
- Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
- Breastfeeding
- Have never received the COVID-19 vaccine
Why is an updated vaccine needed?
Vaccine protection decreases over time, which is why the CDC recommends an updated COVID vaccine to prevent serious illness, long COVID 19 symptoms, hospitalization, or even death.
Where can I get free COVID tests?
The federal government has restarted its free at-home COVID test program. Order them at COVIDTests.gov.
