Small group brokers: Reconciliation period reduced for level funded ASO surplus
To align with the market, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) will reduce the settlement reconciliation period for level funded ASO surplus from 15 months to nine months after the end of the applicable term. Settlement reconciliation will occur nine months post the contract period starting with January 1, 2025, contracts. Small group customers must maintain active medical coverage with Blue KC at the time of the settlement calculation to be eligible to receive a surplus.
Updated contracts will be included in level funded small group renewal packets.
