The Blue KC Scholarship in Honor of Danette K. Wilson
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) established The Blue KC Scholarship in Honor of Danette K. Wilson in May 2019.
The $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman pursuing a business or healthcare degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Danette K. Wilson dedicated more than three decades of service to Blue KC, including nearly five years as the company’s first woman President and Chief Executive Officer. Danette is a devoted alumna of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and upon her retirement in May 2019, Blue KC proudly established the scholarship in her honor to support the education of future leaders in business and healthcare.
Criteria
Applicant must be:
• An incoming freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
• In pursuit of a business or healthcare degree

The scholarship recipient will be notified in July 2023. The scholarship is awarded following verification of enrollment.
