Stop, breathe, and take a moment for behavioral health and self-care

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) prioritizes well-being and open conversations about behavioral health.

These resources from Blue KC and Mental Health America are helpful guides for raising awareness about behavioral health and encouraging self-care.

Should you or someone you know be in crisis or have a behavioral health need such as depression, anxiety, or panic attacks, dial:

  • 833-302-MIND (6463) to talk to a Mindful Advocate 24/7 (must be a Blue KC member)
  • 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline if you or someone else is experiencing a mental health crisis

Sports

Many Blue KC sports partnership programs promote behavioral health and removing the stigma associated with getting help. As a parent or coach, we think you’ll find these resources compelling.

  • Not Good Enough Documentary – Not Good Enough boldly challenges parents and coaches to think about how their actions can negatively impact youth athletes’ behavioral health. Presented by the Kansas City Royals and Blue KC, the film has received local, national, and international awards.
  • Not Good Enough Educational Course – Stimulates healthy conversations that can lead to more enjoyable experiences on and off the field. For parents, caregivers, coaches, clubs, directors, and schools.
  • Open Letters – Educates parents, coaches, and caregivers of the pressure kids face on and off the field.
