Youth Sports Documentary “Not Good Enough” to Air on MLB Network and KCWE

The Networks will feature the film during Mental Health Awareness Month in May

The award-winning documentary “Not Good Enough,” a film that is a 45-minute look into the perspective of youth athletes and the toll perfectionism takes on their behavioral health, will air on Major League Baseball’s official network, MLB Network, and KCWE-29, which is the sister station of Kansas City’s ABC-affiliate. Both platforms will feature the documentary during May’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Previously, the documentary aired on Kansas City PBS in early February.

Presented by the Kansas City Royals and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC), “Not Good Enough” explores behavioral health challenges that today’s youth athletes face and provides a way forward.

MLB Network will air the documentary on Saturday, May 11 at Noon CT. Click here to learn how to access MLB Network.

KCWE will show the film on Saturday, May 18 at 3 p.m. CT. The station runs programming from The CW Network and is found on Channel 29 in the Kansas City market.

The documentary debuted on October 9, 2023, in recognition of World Mental Health Day. The premiere was shown to a private audience of community leaders and sports enthusiasts at the B & B Theatres Mainstreet KC.

The film is part of the Shut Out the Stigma initiative, a joint effort between Blue KC and the Royals, to provide support for behavioral health as a part of overall health and well-being and focus on removing the stigma around mental health. “Not Good Enough” can be watched for free anytime at www.ShutOuttheStigma.com/documentary.

Blue KC supports the Kansas City community through impactful sports partnership programs.
